Our ever changing world! I remember when.......

Summertime is in full swing here at the Royal Port Antiques!  We have been adding a variety of inventory to the shop.  Some of my favorites include autograph books from the later 1800's.  It's interesting to read the messages and see the drawings that date back to a very different time than the present.  It was a time when communication was through written word and through letters that did not arrive the next day.  This week I was making a lot of "remember when" statements.  I'm starting to date myself.  When Mike and I started in our first shop, The Queen's Inn, almost 20 years ago, things were so different in our way of communicating with our customers.  Print ads and mail outs were the norm.  If you wanted to share a photo with a customer you had one developed and sent it in the mail. (and you couldn't preview it to see if it was a decent shot)  Mike and I have come a long way with the advent of email, blogs, facebook, twitter, pinterest and our latest addition, instagram.  We can send a photo in an instant with our phones through text.  Who would have thought 20 years ago the way we do business would change so dramatically.  I have to say I love it! It's great getting instant feedback on all the new things we post daily!  Check out our new inventory for June.  Always feel free to join us on email, the web, twitter, facebook, pinterest and instagram.  If not we still enjoy getting a letter from time to time! Royal Port Antiques at the Mullica Hill, NJ Antique Show this Saturday!

For those of you that share our love for Early American Country Antiques, this Saturday, the 14th, is the June Festival of Antiques Show at the Fairgrounds in Mullica Hill, NJ. It runs from 9 am - 4 pm. These photo are from our tent last year. We will be bringing an array of things including  tables, chests, stoneware, architectural, garden and much more. After the show, stop by the Royal Port Antiques and stay for dinner at one of our local restaurants. Our shop is 25 minutes South of the show on Route 45. In addition to the Antiques we will be bringing to the show we have added many new items to the shop including counters, stoneware, carts, lighting, treenware, architectural and industrial items.
