There's a Chill in the Air! Royal Port is Gearing up for the Fall Holidays!

A chill is in the air here at the Royal Port.  That signals the lighting of the stoves creating a cozy feel throughout.  As I mentioned in our last post, we have been adding a lot of new furniture and smalls to our existing setups throughout the shop.  One of our booth updates, shown here, shows us a few of the new items including a 19th century grain bin, 2 door cupboard as well as a breadboard end work table.  The newly acquired gauges also make a nice statement above the mantle piece.  Take a moment to browse through the albums on this page.  We have added new photos to the October Album.    I am excited about all of our new inventory and the upcoming holidays.  (a few customers have started Christmas shopping already)

Also this Friday is the Annual Ghost Tour of Salem City.  We are one of the sponsors as well as the hosts.  It is a fun night out for all ages.  The event starts at 7pm from our parking lot and ends back here for refreshments.  Homeowners and guides tell tales of unusual and unexplainable happenings in the properties along Market Street,  It is especially very interesting to listen to the homeowners share their daily experiences in their historic properties.  Prior to the tour there is a free concert, Tunes From the Crypt, at St. John's Episcopal Church.  There is time to do both.  The concert ends early enough to do the Ghost Tour.  I have included details for both.  It's a fun fall night out.  Please feel free to call with any questions. Beautiful Fall Days, Fall Decorations and Fresh Inventory at the Royal Port!

What a great Fall we are having!  I am usually a Spring person so I think that this is why I am enjoying this Springlike Fall weather.  We have been adding a large amount of new inventory to our shop the past few months.  I am thrilled how the shop looks and will continue to share it with you through my monthly albums.  One of our new items includes this beautiful 19th Century Slant Front Desk with One Drawer and a decorative back splash.  The interior has 3 drawers and a divided interior.  I posted a photo of the interior on this month's album.  It is a perfect piece surrounded by ladder back chairs and a late 18th Century Hearth Surround.   This Fall we've also been having a lot of fun utilizing industrial carts for displaying inventory throughout the shop.  This cart makes a nice stage for some of our newly acquired items including the stoneware, decoys and Freihofer bin.  This Fall also forced us to clean up our acts and sort and add to our inventory of doors.  The doors act as great backdrops in our open style Mill.  This white painted barn door created a great backdrop under our stairwell.  The screen hanging from the door added some interest with the display of smalls pulled from throughout the shop.  DIsplayed in front of the door, along with a Ware chair, is the unusual one drawer stand.  A close up photo of this stand can be found in this month's album.  As you can see from this post and many others I have written,  I enjoy using our inventory  to create interesting setups throughout the shop, upstairs and down.  Mike and I hope our setups throughout the shop inspire you!  Take a peek at what the October Album has to offer.  Suzanne
