What to do while you ride out the storm? Royal Port has the answer!

It's a ghost town around town with everyone getting ready for the storm so I thought to myself what are people going to do while they sit around at home waiting to see what the storm will deliver to us?  So I took it upon myself to provide my fellow antique

loving friends with something to do.  Look at pictures of cool stuff of course.  So I went through the shop with my trusty camera today and added photos of some of our new inventory.  I broke my own record by having 149 photos in the October Album.  This month was a great mix

Royal Port Antique's Farm Table Gets Center Stage in House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Month!

Well we cannot take credit for this beautiful kitchen but we can take credit for the beautiful Farm Table that is a central point in Claire Shean's amazing kitchen redo.  Claire resides with her family in Mount Kisco, NY.  Claire's son was taking lessons in the area so she decided to search architectural shops in New Jersey and found the Royal Port.  She saw the farm table and knew it was perfect for her new kitchen redo and had it shipped back home.  In the House Beautiful article we read that Claire's goal with her renovation was to recapture the feeling of her childhood home, a simple yet “real” kitchen that was utilitarian yet homey. And she wanted it to fit with the rest of her circa 1900 house in a seamless way. 
In the article Claire reveals she wanted a farmhouse table instead of an island not only for the evocative period effect but because she loves to bake and the table height is easier for kneading.  The attention to details including lighting, paint, hardware, appliances,  counters and of course the farm table is what makes this kitchen fit in so beautifully with Claire's 1900's home.   If you want to read the entire article it is in this month's issue of House Beautiful.  We were excited that the Royal Port was mentioned in the article.  Thanks Claire!

New Architectural Inventory Added Throughout the Shop!

We have been very busy adding mantels, doors, gates and other architectural elements throughout the shop.  I added several photos of the beautiful mantels, cast iron and wire gates as well as some decorative lintel legs to the October Album today and will add more over the next few weeks. This Fall Season Offers Great Inventory at the Royal Port!

As I say often, things are moving and shaking here at the Royal Port.  Since our open house a few weeks ago we have been bringing in a lot of new inventory.  We have been excited about the new furniture pieces in the shop.  One beautiful addition to the shop is a 2 piece barrel back corner cupboard with butterfly shelves.  We don't come across many barrel back style cupboards.  This has beautiful picture frame molding.  Additional photos of the cupboard are in the new album.   Another early country piece new to the shop is an Early 4 Door Painted Cupboard with narrow shelves.  This is a great piece in any area of the home with the doors open for display or closed for storage. In addition to furniture we added some great early treenware including the three mortar and pestles and some great industrial and architectural pieces.   The decorative iron fence pieces pictured here are a perfect detail for any garden or fencing project.
