What Else is New in May at the Royal Port Antiques?

I wanted to do a quick post with a link to our May 2011 new album of our latest inventory.  We have been really busy the past 2 weeks adding new inventory to the shop.  The second floor of the shop looks really great with all of the new items as well as some unusual architectural pieces.  We've added several new tables, blanket chests, quilts, dough boards, cutting boards, advertising, wagons, and so much more.  I thought I would tease you with this beautiful shot of our yellow ware inventory on this lovely painted display piece.  A nice area to display stoneware, baskets, treenware or your favorite collection.  Check out the new album and stay tuned for more updates.  Suzanne

Mike Allegro at the Royal Port Antiques During Arts in Bloom

The Royal Port Antiques will be a part of  Salem County Arts in Bloom this weekend by hosting local Photographer Michael Allegro.  Mike will be exhibiting the beautiful photographs he has captured throughout the county.   We own five of Mike's pieces and they can be seen at the Royal Port.  His photos are a reminder of how lucky we are to live amongst such great natural views and wildlife.    Mike will be on hand to demonstrate along the Royal Port's beautiful view of the river and its wildlife.    Arts in Bloom is a free springtime celebration of the arts involving more than 50 artists at 27 locations throughout Salem County. Running Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, the event features painting, sculpture, glass making, metalsmithing, ceramics, leather, jewelry, fiber arts, fashion design, primitive 
arts, woodworking and furniture making.

May is in Bloom with New Inventory at the Royal Port Antiques!

Wow!  Where did April go?  It was a busy month for us.  As usual we are always adding new and unusual things to the shop.  I have been adding quick albums to our facebook site when new things arrive.  Make sure to check it out from time to time.  It is a more casual way to keep in touch with our customers.  We have gotten in a lot of great smalls as well as furniture to the shop.  We are always looking for stoneware.  This bristol glazed 2 gallon vendor's jug is beautiful and a nice addition to our stoneware inventory.  The nicely done blue script reads Frank House, Newton, NJ.   It is in good condition.   Another great piece to the shop is this early work bench.  I know it would be a great addition to any woodworkers workshop but it would make a great sideboard as well as a great center island.  It has a beautiful top that sits nicely on the chunky frame.  The table exhibits nice dovetailing details in its construction. I had fun decking it out with some of our newer smalls inventory including the nice grouping of blue striped yellow ware and the early store jar.  I added a lot of new setups throughout the shop.  I love this early house model along with the early stoneware pitcher and a great stack of pantry boxes.
I also love this primitive grouping with an early farm gate, wire screen and great grouping of old salt and grain bags.  We acquired a nice grouping of old printed grain/feed bags.  Some of the bags were used for pillowcases.  I have some on display on the old rope beds in the shop.  The early farmers used whatever fabrics that were available including the feed bag fabric.  And for those looking for summertime vintage pieces we have several outdoor chairs, planters and gates.  We also have plenty of early panel doors, barn doors and windows of all sizes for all those restoration and decorating projects.  This is just a small sampling of the new inventory.  I added 70 photos to the April/May Photo Album for your viewing.  The album is full of great early country smalls including some great treenware and several great quilts and quilt tops.  Enjoy looking through the album.  Always feel free to call or email if you have any questions.  Happy Mother's Day!  Suzanne
