Are you looking
for something to do on Sunday, August 29th? We are bringing our
antiques on the road to our next show in Historic New Castle, DE. In
its 23rd year, the Historic Newcastle Show
is an outdoor show on the waterfront in Battery Park. Admission is
$7.00 or $6.00 with a card (print out the card included in this post). It's
one of our favorites. The show is from 10 am -4 pm. We've been planning
and packing. Our inventory for the show will include furniture, stoneware, baskets, architectural, treenware and of course the unusual. If you're looking for something and are going to
the show send us an email
and we'll see if we have it. Or go to the show and then stop by
the shop. (open until 5) See you there Suzanne & Mike
Just a quick post to let our customers know that September 18th we will be having our Annual Open House and Customer Appreciation Day. It will be a day filled with fun, food (always lots of food), great Antiques and discounts throughout the day. Look for something new that day, Royal Port Bucks!! We'll be mailing out cards soon. If you are not on our mailing list or just aren't sure, send us an email. Mark your calendars and see you then. Suzanne
For those of you that don't have Facebook I came up with a way to insert a video of the album I posted there last week for you to view on this site. It was fun to do. Hope you enjoy it. I will continue to do little videos like this from time to time so you can see a bulk of similar inventory items. Suzanne
We hope everyone is enjoying their summer. We have been keeping very busy putting new things in daily. Thank you everyone for your positive comments about the Customer Creations Posts. I really enjoy sharing the before and after photos. There are more to come. To the Royal Port Facebook followers, check out the latest photo album and post of some of our inventory of doors and windows. The shop is full of all styles and sizes for your latest project.
From time to time I do a quick post with a photo album on various subjects on Facebook. If you are not a fan click on the link above or from the link on this site. (see upper left hand corner) Now to the new stuff! I am loving how the shop looks. We've put several great pieces into the shop. One of my latest favorites is this 19th century one door cupboard in original paint. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it. I included a photo of the interior. For those of us that have older homes and are always looking for storage, this piece is perfect. Picture this painted cupboard with this Salem County, New Jersey grain painted mantel. The surface on this is so beautiful. An early architectural piece like this one would be a focal point in any room. I had fun complimenting the mantel with early woven splint baskets, treenware and stoneware. We get a lot of requests for drop leaf tables. This late 18th early 19th century Gloucester County, NJ cherry drop leaf table is in beautiful condition. It is one of the nicest examples we have offered. It exudes grace and charm.
Another popular customer request in the shop is long harvest tables. We just acquired this 8' Pennsylvania Country Store Table with one drawer. It's ready to go for big Sunday dinners. I can also see this table as a nice sideboard. I know I am always looking for space at our parties for desserts and drinks. Another piece that is perfect for a sideboard is this early store counter. For those of you redoing a kitchen it would also make a great center island. And for those starting a new business step right up! What a great display piece for retail products or a customer check out counter. Have you been looking for a piece for your foyer or mudroom to stash the everyday things? This double lift top painted grain bin is perfect for school bags over the weekend, shoes, hats etc. It is also a great shoe changing height. This again is one of those great multipurpose pieces. Some of our other smaller pieces of new inventory include this early 20th Century Piedmont Tobacco Advertising Folding Chair. The porcelain sign is two sided and in mint condition. This type of chair may have been used at sports stadiums or press areas.
We also acquired a nice selection of molds including some really nice molds for casting paddles. The one mold looks like a birthday cake . Check out the cast iron safe dolly that the mold is sitting on.
And the final photo is for those of you that need a break and want to paddle around your pond or small waterway. This Salem County, NJ wooden boat is ready to go. I haven't tried it out myself and would recommend trying it the first time with life jackets close by. Royal Port will be at the Long Beach Island show in Barnegate, NJ on Sunday. If you are in the area stop by and say hi to Mike. Also I added a search tab to our site. If you are looking for a particular item the search tab will take you to those posts. It's a very quick and easy way to scan the earlier posts. Enjoy your weekend. Suzanne
