A Few New Arrivals to the Royal Port!

We added two more step back cupboards to our inventory.  This painted cupboard is a great kitchen or dining room piece.  It has a nice amount of cupboard space and drawer storage plus a very pleasing color.  I had fun decorating with some nice country pieces and a draped quilt.  Another nice step back is this smaller size two doors over two doors.  It has a hint of red color.  It was stripped at one time in its life.  Nice display piece as well as great storage piece.  If you are looking for a big cupboard now is the time to stop in.  We have a nice selection of different style step back cupboards with panel doors and glass doors.  Also new to the shop are this great pair of raised panel shutters or doors.  What a great statement they make as a backdrop.  I love the paint too.  Mike and I have been adding a lot of new architectural pieces to the shop.  We will be adding more in the next few weeks.   My favorites to the shop are three barn slider doors in green and white paint.  They had their debut as a backdrop at the Mullica Hill Show a few weeks ago.  I love them in the shop.  They make a statement on their own on a bare wall or as a backdrop to a nice country antiques setup.   The last item is a grain bin.  It is a long narrow piece with some nice original paint.  It's beautifully constructed with a breadboard end top.  We have several very nice grain bins in various sizes.  Some are refinished and most are painted.  They are perfect for a foyer entrance, family room or mudroom.  They make a nice bench and storage area for things you just want to tuck away from gardening supplies to the kids toys and games.  Well that's it for today.  Hope you are enjoying the start of summer.  Stop in and see us or drop us a note if you are looking for anything.  We are always willing to email additional photos of items posted or other items in the shop.  Suzanne

In Case You Missed the Mullica Hill Show!!

I thought I'd share some photos of our booth from the show.   I really liked how we designed our booth, especially the backdrops of the old barn sliders.  They make a statement by themselves.  We had a nice mix of furniture, architectural and garden antiques.   It was a quality show with a great turnout.  Mike and I sold a lot of neat things from advertising boxes to chests to garden accessories to architectural.  The weather was great until that large storm cloud loomed over us late in the afternoon.   It was raining so hard at one point that I thought the Coast Guard was going to be called out to rescue me from my tent. (just kidding)  I decided it was a good time to take an ice cream break.   It was nice seeing so many of our customers at the show and after wards many of you stopped by the shop to see Mike.  Hope you enjoyed the day.  Suzanne                                                           

Royal Port Antiques at the Mullica Hill Antique Show!

Just wanted to update our customers on our latest upcoming show.  It's very close to home for us.  The 3rd Annual June Festival of Antiques is June 13th at the Gloucester County 4-H Fairgrounds.  I've enclosed the ad card which can be printed for an admission discount.  Stop by to see us.  We are set up under the first tents as you enter the show.  We're the official show greeters!!   For those of you that are staying over the night before the show or just want to stop in, we are open Friday night until 8pm for Salem's 2nd Friday, see previous post. Conan, Letterman or Late Night at the Royal Port!!

Royal Port Antiques is participating in Salem City's 2nd Fridays- Night Out in Salem!!  Friday, June 12th the Royal Port Antiques will be open until 8pm.  If you haven't had a chance to stop by during the day please feel free to drop by the shop that Friday night.  We'll make sure we have plenty of my famous lemonade and cookies.  Enjoy a nice summer evening of shopping in Salem City's shops as well as dinner at our local restaurants.  I've included the advertising card listing the participating businesses.  Hope to see you there.  Suzanne

June is in Bloom at the Royal Port!

We're excited about the summer season.  The shop is in bloom with new things.  We continue to constantly offer new inventory and creative and fun setups throughout the mill.  We've added cupboards, chairs, lighting and great architectural. We put in several large cupboards/display cabinets.  This step back one piece cupboard is perfect for displaying smalls with the doors open or closed.  For those looking to create a kitchen of only cupboards this would be a great starting piece.  With its cupboards top and bottom and 2 healthy size drawers it makes a great piece for any collections.   This 2 door glass top one piece cupboard is perfect for collections, books and could go in any room of your home or office.    The other large display cupboard is this one piece 2 glass doors over 2 glass doors with a nice arched accent to the top doors.  What a great display piece.  This one could also go in any room of a home or office.  I was looking around our shop at the many styles of chairs that we currently have in our inventory.  We love chairs and have always had a large inventory of various styles.  They vary from windsor, plank bottom, ladder back, balloon back. bootjackback, Ware and so on..   Some of the new sets include this set of 4 paint decorated balloon back chairs.  They are beautifully painted and in very nice condition.  Pictured is one of six of another beautiful set of paint decorated chairs.  These are attributed to the Ephrata, PA artist Heilig.  They are a meticulously painted set of chairs in very good condition ready to settle themselves around a nice country table.  Another great piece to the shop is this 19th century low back windsor writing chair with a scroll seat.  We don't see many of these.  What a nice addition to someone's windsor chair collection.   For those of you that stop by the shop you know we pride ourselves on always having nice lighting.  One of the nicest lamps we've acquired is this double student lamp with period shades.  It was once an oil lamp converted to electric.  A beautiful statement for any room.   Another new favorite to the shop is this early bakery shipping crate in yellow paint with stenciling.   It is in nice condition.  I took a shot of the entire display along with the beautiful Delaware Valley rocker, tinware berry pails on the grain painted mantel and the great 2 sided bicycle wheel carnival wheel.  It's a fun setup.   To finish off the post is this over sized or double door victorian screen.  It is in great condition with wonderful details and color.  For any details on the items listed please feel free to call or email.   Additional items added to the inventory include a dough box, several grain bins, several baskets, a lot of architectural as well as pewter plates, basins and chargers.  I will post additional photos soon.  Happy antiquing.  Suzanne
