Follow-up Drysinks as Changing Tables!

Several "parents to be" had been in the shop looking for something different to use for a changing table.   Eric and Michelle had been top on our list and found one at the Royal Port.  I wanted to share with you our newest customer Lily in her drysink changing table.   Perfect for holding all the things new Moms and Dads need right at hand.   We're always trying to target our younger customer base and here she is.  Congratulations Eric & Michelle.  Suzanne

Ending the Month with some Great Finds!

 We've been busy adding new pieces to the shop.  One of our favorite new pieces is this large 2 drawer over 2 doors mustard over red painted jelly cupboard.   It would make a beautiful statement in any room.   Sitting on top is this beautiful heavy woven splint basket in nice condition.  You can get a feel for its size in the picture with the mustard cupboard.  Draped inside is one of 2 small doll quilts that are new to the shop.  For those that love architectural, one of our other favorite items is the gothic architectural piece that we feel was for a religious statue or crucifix.  As I looked at our churches altar this morning I noticed the crucifix in a similar form.  If you are looking for chairs we just brought in about 16 chairs in varying styles. We both love chairs.  It started when we had the coffee house in our Queens's Inn shop and had to ask many a customer to get up so someone could look at the chair they were sitting on.   The rocker pictured is a nice Delaware Valley ladder back with a rush seat.  Several of the other chairs are beautiful rod back and butterfly back bamboo turned windsors.  They are all in nice condition.  They are not sets but would marry beautifully in any setting or as a side chair.  Also pictured is this nice smaller size red painted dry sink.  It is a very simple one door dry sink.  This would make a nice kitchen storage piece, entertainment center as well as a nice changing table.  (see an earlier post dry sinks as changing tables)  We put in a few pieces of stoneware including this 1-1/2 gallon blue decorated crock in excellent condition.  Also pictured with the red dry sink is a 5 gallon bristol glazed crock with handles.  I love the handles.  It is marked with the manufacturer on the face of the crock.  If you are looking for an extra kitchen work surface or island, this 2 drawer over 2 door painted cupboard would be perfect.  It would offer added storage and drawer space.  And finally for those clock lovers is a self winding clock from the Self Winding Clock Co., New York.  It appears to be in good condition less the battery power needed to wind it.  There are always other things new to the shop that don't get included in my listings.  Always stop by or let us know if you're looking for something.  Suzanne

Royal Port at Antiques at Kimberton Show Photos

Yesterday was the opening of the Kimberton Show.  Mike and Sammy held down the shop while I did the show.  I always enjoy doing the Kimberton Show.  There was a nice crowd waiting at the door patiently for the opening and a steady crowd all during the day.  I took some shots of our booth.  We brought several items that were new to our inventory.   One of the show favorites was the 19th century one piece painted corner cupboard.  It has butterfly shelves and great hardware.  The original blue/green paint is screaming to be uncovered.  Very tempting to a few yesterday.  The 2 sided game wheel made a nice centerpiece for the booth.  (sorry, this did sell) Also new to the show were the painted dry sink, painted drawered piece, a great gothic statuary alcove and several pairs of over sized painted corbels.  I think this was one of our favorite booth displays.   It was a fun and interesting group of things.  Mike is at the show today until 4.  Stop by and say hello.  If not stop by the shop to check out some of our other new inventory.  I have more items to post this week.  Suzanne

Royal Port at Antiques at Kimberton Show this Weekend!

Just a reminder that the Kimberton, PA show is this weekend March 21-22.   It is one of our favorite shows to do.  Saturday hours are from 9-5 and Sunday from 11-4.  It's at the Kimberton Fire Hall.  We are bringing some new things with us including some great architectural corbels, a neat drawered piece and a beautiful corner cupboard with butterfly shelves.  Hope to see you there.  Suzanne

New Inventory in March at the Royal Port

Here are a few of the new items in the shop this week. This 19th Century large 2 drawer over 2 door jelly cupboard is a beautiful piece.  It has dovetailed drawers and a nice gallery.  Great storage space.  From time to time we get requests for small display cabinets.  This is an Oak Freihofer Display Case.   It is a perfect size for shows or  small collections.  It has its original shelf and brass plate engraved made for Freihofer.  Another nice piece is this 19th century red painted blanket chest.  It is paneled on three sides.  It retains its original til and paint.  Strap hinged lid. 
For those looking for a simple table this is a nice painted country table with turned legs and one drawer. The base is white while the top retains a red paint.  That's it for today.  Suzanne

Royal Port at the Renninger's Show

Just wanted to give you a quick peek at part of our booth at Renninger's in King of Prussia.  Mike is there today.  Stop by and say hi.  He had a fun day yesterday seeing so many of our customers.  We brought some of our latest architectural finds and furniture including the arched window, vent, ironware and painted table.  Check back for photos of this weeks new inventory.  Keep warm.
