Renninger's Mid-Winter Classic Antiques Show

Mike and I are starting to gear up for our show season.  February 28th-March1st starts our show year at Renninger's Mid-Winter Classic.  We had a great time meeting new people at last years show.  I included a photo of our booth from the last show.  It's an interesting show with a wide variety of antiques. I started a new page on the blog with our show calendar and events calendar.   I also added photos of our booths from each show from last year.   Take a peek.  I'll add more things and scan in the discount cards from each show as we schedule them.  Hope to see you at some of the shows.  Suzanne

Industrial Antiques at The Royal Port

Mike and I are always finding ourselves drawn to what we refer to as Industrial Antiques. Pieces that were used in a warehouse/industrial setting.  We just acquired several industrial carts which I will be blogging about soon. (too cold to take pictures on the porch today)  One such industrial piece spent some time on our truck.   A wood and iron table.  It was used as a packing table at a So. Jersey Apple Orchard.  It has a nice iron base with a slatted wood top with drawers in the front and a nice size shelf underneath.  It is also marked with the foundry on the iron base.  We were anxious to get it into the shop.  Several of our customers were curious how that would happen. (as was I) When you have a big warehouse you forget about size and weight.  The table had been loaded onto the truck with a forklift.  Not to worry.  After being housed on the truck for 2 months and me hounding him day after day, as usual Mike had a plan.  He just needed a willing participant.  Lucky for us our nephew Daniel was in town from Ohio.  With some creative engineering, our 21 year old nephew and some dollies they were able to position it into its new home.  Of course I couldn't wait to decorate it.  I added a lot of our country store type antiques on and around it.  We think this would make a great center island in a large kitchen or restaurant as well as a buffet table.  If it is still around during one of our open houses I'll try it out.  If you want any additional information on the table give us a call or send an email.  Suzanne

A New Year at the Royal Port Antiques

Welcome to the New Year.  It has been a busy one so far.  We're always moving and shaking at the shop.  Mike and I were rearranging a booth and Sam decided to help.  Of course I had to run and get the camera to capture the cute moment.  Not sure what the spooky white round image is.  The ghost of the dry sink still remains.  Only kidding or am I?  I am excited about the New Year and have so many ideas for our blog.  My goals include adding to our customer creations section.  I am always asking customers to share their before and after photos when using architectural items.  Customers are welcome to email photos of how they use the furniture too.  It's nice to see the pieces bought displayed in homes and businesses.  (FYI speaking of creations- Elizabeth's in Greenwood, DE is opening their new location today.  Make sure you check out their buffet counter which was one of my favorite pieces.)  Also in the New Year I will post customer letters, our updated show schedule and events in Salem County.   Our Blog readers, I open up the floor to you.  What would you like to see in the blog? So many of our customers ask us about our home and are curious about how we have it decorated.  From time to time I will share what I will title  "A Peek Inside" our home and talk about what we enjoy collecting.
