Our QA Inspector Sammy

When our son Sam escapes from the office to unsafe territory into the shop area (12,000 square feet of great things to explore), his first stops are to check out some of the fun things of yesterday that are just his size. We recently acquired this old pedal car.  As you can see Sam is a safe driver.  Checking behind him before he proceeds. He loves anything with wheels. Tricycles are his favorites too. The one we have is a bit big for him although he found a way to ride it.  I guess he's Royal Port's official QA inspector.  After play time it's back to work for Sam.  He only moves the small things Daddy can't get with our, just his size, vintage hand truck. I might snag this one for him.  I think it's time to take the price tag off.  Never saw one like this before. One thing we will have to teach our little Antique Dealer in Training is don't get too attached to the merchandise.  He let out a big "UH" today as a vintage tin farm toy was being purchased by a customer. (like where the heck do you think you're going with that?)  Many more fun times for Sam to come in his antiquing adventures.  Suzanne

Customer Creations

For all the years we've sold architectural pieces we've asked our customers to share pictures of their final projects.  Several have emailed photos but we'd love to see more.  From time to time we'll share with you their great projects using our architectural finds and antiques plus look for a link to our "Customer Creations Album".  We'll add photos as we get them. 

Incubators as Center Islands

Mike and I are always looking for cool and unusual things for customers to use for a kitchen center island.  We look for neat small pieces for those that are space deprived.  One of our favorite things is old chicken incubators.  They have the best color, interesting decals and storage.  My favorite is one we sold a few years ago. This was more of a cupboard.  What a conversation piece in someone's home!  I was sorry to see it go.  I had a lot of fun decorating it.  You should have seen the looks on the faces of the people at the auction.  What the heck is she going to do with that?  We just put another one in the shop this week.  Wouldn't this look cool in someone's kitchen?  Not too big, not too heavy, plus a great bin for ?  maybe potatos or is it potatoes? (well that's another day) The original decal is on the front and it has a great old patina. I had fun decorating this one too.  The pretty flowers are from the Salem Farmer's Market, one of my favorite places to go on Thursday in the summer.  It's 2 blocks from our shop.  Mike and Sammy are out looking for some great finds.  I better get back to work.  Suzanne
